Music Stars Who Made It Big Before 30 (Photos)Shana Aborn
Lovers of suspense, music, and girl power pay attention: The much-anticipated ABC (part of the Disney family) show Nashville premieres tonight at 10pm EST! The drama stars Connie Britton as music icon Rayna Jaymes, whose fading career is threatened by the success of up-and comer Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). We don’t know who will win out in the battle of the bands, but we do know that young stardom in the music industry is nothing new.
Like Juliette, many of today’s music sensations got their start at a remarkably young age – some were on the charts before they were old enough to vote or even drive! And some have gone on to careers that’ve lasted long enough to earn them the title of “legend.”
After the jump, a look at stars who made it big by 30:
Scotty McCreery 1 of 10This fresh young country sensation got his start on "American Idol," then quickly went on to make his first album, "Clear as Day," which went platinum.
Kellie Pickler 2 of 10The judges on "American Idol" teased the then-19-year-old a few years ago for her naive down-home ways, but no one's laughing now. Her first album earned the highest selling first week sales for a new artist in 2006.
The Band Perry 3 of 10These sibling singers, who shot to stardom with their #1 song "If I Die Young," are all under 30. Youngest bro Neil is just 22.
Carrie Underwood 4 of 10One of the few "American Idol" winners to achieve true stardom, Carrie has done so in a big way with millions of albums sold and a host of awards to her name. All this, and she won't be 30 till next year.
LeAnn Rimes 5 of 10Her personal life may be getting a lot of attention these days, but let's not forget that she's also a country music powerhouse who hit the scene when she was just 13.
Taylor Swift 6 of 10At 16, she had a hit with the song "Tim McGraw," and from there, her star just kept rising. At 22, she has three hit albums, a shelf full of awards - and a high-profile boyfriend.
Faith Hill 7 of 10The country megastar started performing when she was 7 and had her first band as a teen. Faith's debut album was released when she was just 26, and she hasn't stopped since.
Miranda Lambert 8 of 10The Grammy-winning artist signed her first label at age 20 after coming in third on "Nashville Star." At just 22, she released her album "Kerosene," which went platinum.
Brantley Gilbert 9 of 10He may be just 27, but Gilbert is already making a name for himself as a singer-songwriter. He's helped write two hits for Jason Aldean and was nominated for a Country Music Association Award for Best New Artist.
Hunter Hayes 10 of 10His name is almost as musical as he is. Just 21 years old, he's been performing since age 4. He released his first album last year (which contains his first #1 song). He's now opening for Carrie Underwood on a national tour.
