Music Stars Who Made It Big Before 30 (Photos)

Lovers of suspense, music, and girl power pay attention: The much-anticipated ABC (part of the Disney family) show Nashville premieres tonight at 10pm EST! The drama stars Connie Britton as music icon Rayna Jaymes, whose fading career is threatened by the success of up-and comer Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). We don’t know who will win out in the battle of the bands, but we do know that young stardom in the music industry is nothing new.

Like Juliette, many of today’s music sensations got their start at a remarkably young age – some were on the charts before they were old enough to vote or even drive! And some have gone on to careers that’ve lasted long enough to earn them the title of “legend.”

After the jump, a look at stars who made it big by 30:

The judges on "American Idol" teased the then-19-year-old a few years ago for her naive down-home ways, but no one's laughing now. Her first album earned the highest selling first week sales for a new artist in 2006.

  • The Band Perry

These sibling singers, who shot to stardom with their #1 song "If I Die Young," are all under 30. Youngest bro Neil is just 22.

  • Carrie Underwood

One of the few "American Idol" winners to achieve true stardom, Carrie has done so in a big way with millions of albums sold and a host of awards to her name. All this, and she won't be 30 till next year.

  • LeAnn Rimes

  • Taylor Swift
