Celebrities, they love the master cleanse. This diet is where one exists on a concoction of lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup. In an industry that requires them to be slim, many celebs literally starve themselves to loose that extra weight although many claim that it’s for “health” reasons, not just to get skinnier. Check out what celeb parents are rumored to have done the cleanse.
Demi Moore and husband Ashton Kutcher are currently doing the cleanse according to Demi’s twitter account. And they aren’t shy about discussing it. They are both tweeting about it. Demi said that the two were going on the diet not to close weight but “this is about health!!!” Demi seems to be handling it okay, but she did reply to a follower that she’s “let you know if I make it to day 4.” Ashton on the other hand seems to be having a tougher time. He tweeted that, “9 hrs into the master cleanse. I want a steak, a beer, and a blow-pop. Hmmm this is gonna be rough,”
There are rumors that Angelina Jolie did a version of the master cleanse while she was breastfeeding her twins. An undertaking that is considered dangerous and unhealthy to do. The reports say that Angelina stayed in Martha’s Vineyard after the twins were born and started the cleanse to lose the weight she gained from her pregnancy. And she did the cleanse for an extended time, for a whopping 21 days, the way she lost all that weight so quickly getting prepped for her role in Salt.
Gwyneth is never shy about writing about her health and diet. She wrote in a newsletter for Goop that, “I like to do fasts and detoxes a couple of times during the year, the most hardcore one being the Master Cleanse I did last spring. It was not what you would characterize as pretty. Or easy. It did work, however.” She continued to say, “as I do not wish to subsist on lemon water in the middle of winter, I asked my doctor, a detox diet specialist, for the guidelines he uses to achieve a good detox.” Instead of the master cleanse she, “created this menu plan for a seven-day elimination diet. The shakes and juices are meant to be liquid meals that help decrease the amount of work your digestive system has to do.”
