Dharun Ravi’s parents must be extremely distraught over the fact that their 18-year old son’s hateful and careless actions were likely what caused the tragic death of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi.
Ravi, along with another fellow student at the University, Molly Wei, were responsible for broadcasting a video online of Clementi having an intimate encounter with another male student.
After the incident, Tyler Clementi chose to end his life by jumping off the George Washington Bridge.
Prosecutors have not yet decided whether Ravi and Wei will be charged with a hate crime.
Dharun Ravi’s parents have yet to comment on the situation involving their son, and I’m sure that’s because the lawyers have told them to remain mum on the issue. But out of respect for Tyler Clementi’s family, you would think they would at least have the decency to make a statement offering their condolences.
The fact that they’ve said nothing is a good indicator that they know their son is guilty.
