Don't Forget The Lyrics Host Mark McGrath Says His Twins Remind Him Of His DadTheMommyologist
Singer Mark McGrath is hosting the new version of “Don’t Forget The Lyrics”, which premiered yesterday. He had a pretty tough time while filming the show for two reasons. First, he and his wife became parents of twins, Lydon and Hartley, and second, his father passed away from a massive coronary.
Mark says that his dad “lived life like he wanted to and died like he wanted to.” His father knew that he needed medical attention, but refused to go to the hospital for treatment just before he passed away. Mark adds that his dad was a very religious man, and after he saw his grandchildren baptized, he knew it was time to go.
It’s only been a month since he passed away, but McGrath says, “I see my dad in my twins now and it’s like the circle closing.”
Mark also says that having kids really changed him as a person. Of fatherhood he says, “All the clichés are true…I finally know what true love is. To see these little people looking up at you, feel this unfiltered love you have for your children.”
Mark is worn out after taping the “Don’t Forget The Lyrics” shows, and said that he and his longtime girlfriend, Carin, wound up getting a night nurse to help them after the twins were born so that they could get a little shut eye. The pair became engaged on New Year’s Eve, and McGrath expects them to get married sometime in the Spring or Summer.
