    Kate had it correct!

  2. Lauren says:

Wow, quite a judgmental title. Given the serious discussion of drinking while pregnant in other parts of the site, is using the word “caught” really a good idea?

  3. Multicultural says:

This is a pretty harsh piece on women who choose to drink in moderation while pregnant. My doctor has OK’d it for me and I have so far had one healthy boy and am expecting a girl. If you have been to other countries you might notice, for instance that it is perfectly OK in Europe to have a glass of wine with dinner or lunch while pregnant, no problem! The key word here is MODERATION.

  4. Heidi M. Fanning says:

Seriously, is it really THAT hard to abstain from alcohol for 40 weeks? Just because a baby born to a woman who drank or smoked or used drugs while pregnant seems “fine,” this does not mean that these activities are OK. Fetal alcohol effects can be subtle and easy to miss, or misdiagnosed as ADHD and the like. But it is a serious problem. Unless you are an addict (in which case you need professional help) it should not be an issue to just give up alcohol and other dangerous drugs during pregnancy. Isn’t your baby worth it?
