Dustin Moskovitz and Mark Zuckerberg both signed the Giving Pledge, pledging to give away a large part of their billions to charitable organizations.
Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are the masterminds behind the Giving Pledge, which is trying to get the 400 wealthiest Americans to pledge to give away at least 50 percent of their net wealth. If they succeed in getting all of them to do it, it would mean over $600 billion for charities. A number hard to wrap your mind around in our current economy.
Zuckerberg and Moskovitz are both 26 years old and earned their fortunes through facebook. Zuckerberg is the chief executive officer and president of the social networking site Facebook and Moskovitz was a co-founder of Facebook. According to a Forbes estimate, Moskovitz is worth $1.4 billion while Zuckerberg is worth $4 billion.
They are the youngest billionaires in the United States. Will the older generations take note of their generous pledges and follow their example?
