The earthquake that rocked the East Coast today came as a bit of a surprise, since most of us on the right coast aren’t used to such things.

According to reports, the 5.8 magnitude earthquake was centered near Richmond, Virginia and was felt in Washington D.C., New York City and many places along the east coast.

Twitter lit up over the East Coast earthquake as people checked in to confirm the news and see how others were doing.

A number of celebrity parents joined in on the earthquake tweeting frenzy – here’s a round up of some of the celebrity earthquake tweets:
