As many Hollywood ladies are taking the plunge in becoming a single mother (intentional or not), Sopranos star Edie Falco focuses on the rewards of being a single and working mother.

“I’m juggling a lot and working long hours,” Falco, mom to kids Anderson, 7, and Macy, 3, says, but tells WorkingMother.com that it’s worth all the hard work.

“My work is a huge part of who I am. It’s how I experience the world, and it’s what makes me feel fulfilled,” Edie, 48, says. “As a single mom, I’m juggling a lot and working long hours. Yes, it costs them a little, but what my children get in return is a mother who is energized and content. It helps us to bring out the best in each other, which is what a family should do.”

Are you a single mom? Do you find work to be rewarding? Tell us your story!

As a coach that helps empower women to optimize their lives and work and home, I love what Edie Falco shared about her choices. It is so important that women take a look at what inspires them in life, what drives them in life and what brings energy and contentment. Of course, it is a balance and there are days that there are so many balls in the air, you have to bring in a few extra hands to catch them all. But, if we give ourselves permission to include activities that feed us as women, we will have so much more to give to our precious children.
    Go Edie!
