Elton John Makes Sure That Baby Zachary Gets Breast Milk Every Day

David Furnish and Elton JohnElton John and his partner David Furnish can’t breastfeed obviously, but four-month -old baby Zachary does drink breast milk everyday.

Just how does that work?

Well, Elton John told Barbara Walters during a recent 20/20 interview that they have the breast milk couriered to their home daily from Zachary’s surrogate mother.

Sir Elton details to Barbara how the process works: “The baby’s been brought up in Los Angeles for the first four months, so we’ve had the breast milk Fed-Exed from where [the surrogate mother] is to Los Angeles every day.

Elton John and David have been together since 1993. The couple entered into a civil partnership on December 21, 2005; the first day that civil partnerships could be performed in England.

About David, Sir Elton says: “We love each other so much and we’ve been together 18 years this October. But now it’s all about providing for this little soul that just breaks your heart every time you see him.”

And while they both used their sperm to help create Zachary, they are unsure who the actual father is. David tells Barbara: “We mixed our sperm, we both contributed. At this stage, we don’t know who the biological father is. It’s a guessing game because when we look at our little son we can see elements of Elton and we can see elements of me.”

And it sounds as though Sir Elton and David plan to keep Zachary’s surrogate mother in their lives: “She and her family will still be part of our lives when he’s growing up.”

Hmmm, wonder if that means more babies in the future? What’s your guess?
