Many people’s favorite sometime-dysfunctional family, the Walker family of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, may be nearing the end of their time on the tube. Stars Robe Lowe and EmilyVanCamp–who said her character, Rebecca, has “run her course”–are both officially leaving the show, and we can’t help but wonder if the show itself will be leaving as well.
Executive producer David Marshall Grant says no such decision has been made–in fact, with the show jumping one year in the characters’ lives, he hopes it will continue longer. “I want to put [our characters] in fresh and different places, and hopefully that will have legs,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
Still, we can’t help but feel like we should prepare ourselves for the end of the Walkers. Brothers & Sisters has been an epically successful family show; digging into the multi-generational relationships of one family. The matriarch of the family, Nora Walker, was someone mothers all over the country could relate to–and Emily VanCamp’s character, Rebecca, who was briefly pregnant before she lost the baby was yet another maternal character for viewers to cling onto.
Do you think it’s time for the show to start wrapping up? Or are you ready for more?
