The Best and Worst Red Carpet Looks at the Emmys — According to a 7-Year-Old (Photos)

By Sunny Chanel |

There were a whole bunch of winners and losers at the Emmys, and we’re not just talking about those who took home an award and those who didn’t. The red carpet saw its own share of hits and misses. Television’s biggest stars carefully selected their designer duds and proudly pranced down the red carpet with pundits from television hosts to fashion magazines to style bloggers giving their two cents on the choices the stars made. But really, I wasn’t so interested on what E! or Vogue had to say; I wanted to hear what the fashion critic closest to my heart had to say: my 7-year-old daughter.

My pint-sized fashionista and I watched the red carpet together while she gave her opinion of what the stars wore. According to her, there was a fair share of fruit- and fairy-inspired outfits this year.

See what she had to say about the best- and worst-dressed stars right here:

  1. Renee says:

As my 6 year old would say…”cor-rect.” She got them right all right.

  2. Alexis says:

I think she may have been a little hungry as many of her comments included food references. Loved it had to laugh at some that were spot on.

  3. Laura says:

As the mom of a 6 1/2 yr old fashonista I think this is GREAT!! BTW – Aubrey’s dress is from Tea Collection!! Custom made …

  4. Laura Divin says:

Most enjoyable review I have seen. Right on the money.

  5. J says:

” Did you see the darling star of Modern Family hit the red carpet in Tea Collection? And, yes, the dress is one of a kind, but we’ll show you some great Tea party dresses.

  6. Lori Johnson says:

Your daughters comments were AWESOME, I enjoyed her commentary more than the professionals. Gotta love an honest kid!!! KUDOS mom!

  7. This kid’s gonna give Tom+Lorenzo a run for their money. She & they both said the same thing about almost every gown, including that Anna Faris’ was way too yellow.

  8. Grace says:

I like the fact that the young girl didn’t think that being skinny equaled being pretty. Hope she can hold on to that a little longer.

  9. Cat says:

I loved her reviews A LOT. I wish she was one of the most frequently used reviewers. She’s funny, and bright and when she doesn’t like it….she’s not mean :)

  10. Danielle says:

OMG – this made my day. LOVE!

  11. Madeline says:

    its AuBrey plaza not Audrey.

  12. Rita says:

Your daughter has a great vocabulary, she is really wise, and her ability to think metaphorically is delightful. Next, ask her to draw some designs that would work way better. I just bet she will have some good ones…and modest one…thank you for raising her right.

  13. Laura says:

This is probably the worst dress critique I’ve ever seen – either some bitchy rude comment which shows no intelligence or background knowledge for the actors (eg ‘who’s little kid is that?’ um thats one of the actors from a very very popular tv show) or just says ‘ahh they look like a woodland fairy!’

I’d be surprised if this was the absolute best you could do, most 14 year olds can write better than this.
