Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are receiving many congrats since announcing their engagement over the weekend.
Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, shared his happiness for his daughter on Twitter as well!
“So very happy for Jess and Eric,” he wrote on Sunday night. “May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness.”
Simpson flashed her engagement on Saturday, at an appearance at Dillard’s in Overland Park, Kansas. After six months of dating, the former NFL player popped the question with a ruby, diamond and gold Neil Lane sparkler on November 11th.
They confirmed the news in a statement, “Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!”
Simpson’s brother-in-law, Pete Wentz, has spoken highly of his future brother-in-law. “He’s a really smart guy, and Jessica really loves him,” Ashlee’s husband told People.com. “I think that’s the most important thing, seeing her happy.”
The couple will be spending Thanksgiving in New York. “I’m gonna be on a [Macy's parade] float. It’s not always the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it’s a great way to celebrate. So, maybe I’ll just have all families on the float.”
