Eric LeGrand Fans Continue To Show Support

Last weekend Rutger’s football player made a tackle and never got up. Paralyzed and with no change in his condition, it looks like he will never walk again.

It’s a horrible tragedy and the incident has put focus on violence in football and what can be done to curb it. It’s every one’s nightmare, for both players and parents of players, and many have rallied around to support Eric.

No. 52 shirts, Eric’s number, have been flying off shelves with proceeds going to Eric and his family. “People were coming, or calling asking if we had Eric LeGrand’s jersey,” Ostergren told Mark Di Ionno of the Star-Ledger. “It was pretty relentless, so I figured we should make one.”

Over 11,000 “52” helmet decals are being created for distribution to New Jersey high school teams. Teammates at Rutgers will be wearing “Believe” decals on their helmets for their upcoming game. Some 30,000 stickers showing support will be handed out at the game. A 5-foot-by-10-foot banner will be hung in the student section to be signed by players, coaches and fans expressing support for Eric.
