Eva Longoria is opening up to Allure magazine about her divorce from basketball player Tony Parker. 36-year-old Longoria filed for divorce in November 2010, citing irreconcilable differences. The two were married in July 2007.
Longoria tells Allure that talking about the breakup from the San Antonio Spurs player makes her “want to cry” but she’s trying to make the transition back to being single “as gracefully as possible” and “without any drama.”
Longoria also credits important women in her life – friends and family – with helping her get her through the difficult times. She says she “collects people” in her life, particularly “amazing, smart, interesting women.”
The actress is also taking online classes to get her master’s degree in Chicano studies. She told Jimmy Kimmel that she’s doing it “…so I can be educated and have a background in my activism in the Latino community”.
When asked about her role in Desperate Housewives, Longoria told Allure: “Desperate Housewives was groundbreaking for Latinos in television because the Solises were the richest people on the block – and they’re Mexican.”
The new issue of Allure hits the stands on March 22nd. To see photos of Eva’s photo shoot with Allure, you can check out
