George Michael is headed to jail after being arrested in London on July 4. The performer was driving under the influence and in possession of marijuana when he drove his Range Rover through a storefront, and will now pay the price with an eight week sentence in a British jail.
Michael got a talking-to from District Judge John Perkins, who told the singer, “It does not appear that you took proper steps to deal with what is clearly an addiction to cannabis. That’s a mistake which puts you and, on this occasion, the public at risk.”
Michael, who has a history of driving under the influence of drugs, was found “spaced out” in his car after the crash, and confessed to smoking marijuana and taking a sedative.
Even after multiple run-ins with the law, for the same problem, Michael doesn’t seem to be making any attempts or strides toward sobering up and setting himself straight. He’s not exactly what we would call a good example for our kids.
