Get this: Reese Witherspoon Reads The Best Pet of All

Move over, Bo. Reese Witherspoon’s book pick for the White House Easter Egg Roll is about a family pet slightly bigger than a Portuguese water dog.

In David LaRochelle’s The Best Pet of All, which Witherspoon read this morning to a crowd of kids at the annual event on the South Lawn of the White House, a young boy talks his mom into agreeing he can have a pet dragon–a choice they both come to regret when the dragon turns out to be a somewhat disruptive house guest.

Witherspoon was one of several celebrity-moms on hand reading at the Egg Roll–others included J.K. Rowling and Mariska Haggerty Hargitay. The inspiration behind Witherspoon’s choice may have something to do with her being a dog-person. In addition to being a mother to her kids Ava, 10, and Deacon, 7, she is also a proud dog-mommy to an English bulldog named Frank Sinatra. (Best. Dog name. Ever.)
