Go, Fab Five! USA Women's Gymnastics Team Tweets From London (Photos)

The 2012 USA women's gymnastics team blows kisses to their fans.

As you read this, the U.S. women’s gymnastics team – nicknamed the “Fab Five” – is flipping, vaulting and flying their way to glory in the team competition. We’ll have to wait for tonight to see the tape-delayed results, but these young women made a great showing in the qualifying round, and are a favorite to take home the gold.

Considered the strongest women’s team since the 1996 Atlanta Games, the combination of Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross are a powerhouse grouping of strength, speed and agility on the beam, parallel bars and other equipment.

But they’re also fun-loving teens who are having the time of their life exploring London, meeting fellow athletes and bonding as only girls can. They’ve been tweeting candid moments of their experience here and sharing them with their eager fans.

Check out some of their Olympic moments – and join us in wishing them the best of luck today and in the individual events!
