Golden Globes: 3 Disney Animated Films Nominated!Sunny Chanel
There were no doubt some massive grins at the Walt Disney Animation Studios on Thursday.
Early in the morning the nominations for the 2013 Golden Globes Awards were announced. Out of the five films nominated for the coveted Best Animated Feature were three Walt Disney productions! Yes, it was a stellar year for the studio that invented the long format animated feature way back in 1937.
The complete list of nominees are:
Rise of the Guardians
Brave, Frankenweenie, and Wreck-It Ralph are all from the talented crew at Disney. But now, here comes the hard part: which one will win? If I was a betting gal, I would wager that a Disney film will win, not just due to the odds (with 3 out of the 5 being Disney), but because they were all so good! Each was unique and were totally original. Brave brought us the first Pixar princess, Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie was the first 3-D black and white film ever, and Wreck-It Ralph was the first film to marry video game culture with the animated feature. Yes, it’ll be a tough choice!
As for the ecstatic filmmakers at Disney, here is what the directors had to say about their nominations:
“The adventure of ‘Brave’ began in Scotland, where the mystery and majesty of the land fueled our imaginations. From haggis to highland games, creating this film truly changed our fate. On behalf of everyone at Pixar, we would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for the incredible honor of this nomination.” – Mark Andrews
“Wreck-It Ralph was a labor of love for our entire team at Walt Disney Animation. We are so proud of the hard work that went into making this film, and to see it be recognized with a nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is truly an honor for all of us.” – Rich Moore
“I’m thrilled to be recognized by the HFPA. Frankenweenie is a very personal project for me and the nomination goes as much to the animators who labored frame by frame to bring this film to life.” – Tim Burton
Which of the three one is your favorite?
