It’s been a rough road for Demi Moore these last few months. Her sudden divorce from Ashton Kutcher sent her into a tailspin that led to hospitalizations and rehab, leading some to wonder if she’d ever be well enough to resume her career.
Happily, she’s proving the doubters wrong. Last night, she appeared at the launch party for the new Lifetime series The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet, smiling and looking healthier than she has for some time. She’s lost the wasting-away look she had in this photo (taken last October) and seemed to be in good spirits as she talked up the show – a celebrity interview series she’s co-producing and which is hosted by Demi’s good friend.
But the most significant step she’s taking toward her new life is severing her final tie with her old one. Her Twitter account is “@mrskutcher” – which shows how risky it can be to tie your public identity in to one particular person. (Are you listening, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah?) But the other day she posted, “Time for a change, twitter name change…any suggestions?”
She’s already gotten a few replies, including one from Piers Morgan, who suggested “@mrsmorgan.” “I think that one is taken!” she told him.
She wants her followers to “keep them coming!!” and we’re happy to comply. Here are a few that reflect her identity now:
@GoodWoman – A wordplay on her film A Few Good Men and an affirmation that might help ease her deep-seated fears of not being loved.
@ProudMomDemi – She is and always will be.
@DemiThroughTheFire – And not just the St. Elmo’s Fire.
@DemiStillThankful – She once tweeted that gratitude shouldn’t be restricted just to Thanksgiving.
@DemiDeLovely – The glow is back!
And, perhaps the best one of all: @RealDemiMoore. What Moore is there to say?
