Got a "Honey Boo Boo" Costume? You Could Be a Winner!Shana Aborn
Are you a fan of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo? Are you dressing as one of the show’s stars for Halloween? If so, your outfit could win you a special prize!
“Mama” June Shannon, who runs the fan page for her youngest daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, announced last week that she and her family are holding a costume contest to see which of their fans best resembles them.
Here’s the deal: Take a picture of yourself dressed as Honey Boo Boo or one of her family members, send it to the contest address and they’ll post it to the Facebook page. The photos that get the most “likes” win!
June says that it’s the outfit that matters more than the resemblance. “This is NOT a lookalike contest but actual dressed up/costume.” Don’t have the curly blond locks and glitz dress to be Alana? Try dressing as June, Honey Bear, Chickadee, Chubbs or Pumpkin. You can even enter a picture of your pet!
The caveat: Only one picture per entrant, please. And the deadline for entries is November 1, so if you don’t have your costume yet, better get going. Send your best picture to firstname.lastname@example.org, and include your full name.
The most popular entry gets the grand prize: a T-shirt from The Brand UR, the official T-shirt line of Honey Boo Boo, and a photo signed by the whole family. Second- and third-prize winners will get signed photos as well, and “other prizes and winners could be added,” says the fan page.
So far, a whopping 400 fans have submitted photos, with more coming in every day! The Thompson/Shannon family is amazed by all the people who want to redneckognize them.
Sunday night, June wrote on the fan page, “WOW! We really didn’t expect this big of a turn-out…Who has amazing fans? WE DO! 🙂 Thanks so much for all the fun and support! Love seeing all the different costumes and ways ppl dress up as us :).”
What are you waiting for? Put on your best pageant wear (or your finest mud-bogging gear) and share your beautimous self with Honey Boo Boo!
