Gwyneth Paltrow And Beyonce Working Together To “Protect” Their Daughters

goop13It’s not easy being a celebrity mom with children in the spotlight. Well, at least for Hollywood BFF’s Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce Knowles. According to the besties, they are working together to make sure that their children grow up in a normal environment and childhood, despite their 2500 sq.ft. nurseries and $1000 diamond-encrusted Barbie dolls. Yep.

Gwyneth covers this month’s issue of Self magazine where she talks about turning 40 and her tight bond with her girlfriends with Beyonce even chipping in her few cents to the interview, too. Here are some highlights of what both of the ladies say:

Gwyneth on turning 40 years old: ‘I feel a sisterhood emerging around me. I’m less threatening now that I’m 40 and not 26-with-an-Oscar.’

On her girlfriends: ‘They know I’ve been through a lot of pain and suffering some public, some private and I keep going. Or maybe it’s just that I was the first one who could afford therapy!’

Beyonce on Gwyneth’s friendship: ‘She is incredible. She’s a great friend on every level. I think for us, protecting our daughters is so important and … keeping things on our own terms, so I will still be protective and make sure [Blue Ivy] has a childhood and a great time.’

Ok, so let’s try to take a moment here and not judge that second quote there (although I know it’s hard not to) and say that well at least it’s great that these two have each other as mom friends. Both Beyonce and Gwyneth seem to understand each other in their friendships quite well and I’m sure that if it works for them, it will work for their kids, as well. It’s hard creating good, lasting friendships when you’re older and especially when you’re a mom so kudos to both Gwynnie and Ben for putting their kid’s interests in front of their own by trying to raise them in the most down-to-earth ways they can.

What are your thoughts, Babble readers?
