Heidi Montag's Mom "Mourns" the Loss of her Daughter

Millions watched when The Hills star, Heidi Montag, revealed her brand new face and body to her mom on the show’s season premiere. Shortly after Montag underwent 10 drastic plastic surgery procedures–including breast implants, chin reduction, nose job, ears pinned, neck liposuction, brow lift, cheek implants, lip fillers, botox, and more–she traveled to her hometown in Colorado to face her family as her new self. And well, she didn’t exactly get a great reaction. The cringeworthy visit home was filled with brutally honest comments from her mom, Darlene Egelhoff, who was clearly not happy with any of the changes her Barbie-esque daughter made. Read more after the jump. Montag once said of the encounter with her mom after the surgery: “It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life.” But The Hills star isn’t the only one still bitter about it. In an upcoming episode of MTV’s hit reality show, Egelhoff talks to her other daughter–perhaps now her obvious favorite–Holly about the situation. She explains that she hasn’t been able to sleep, and sometimes doesn’t know how she will make it one more day.

“I’ve been mourning the loss of a child and, yeah, it hurts. It hurts more than I thought it could hurt,” she said. It’s clear Heidi’s choices to change–which seemingly started when she moved to Los Angeles, and continued with her marriage to who seems like Egelhoff’s mortal enemy, Spencer Pratt–have caused a huge rift between the bombshell and her mom. It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel–how can these two patch things up and return to a healthy mother-daughter relationship? From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Heidi is set in her ways and staying on her current track–and mom sure doesn’t look like she plans to accept this new daughter of hers anytime soon. Montag recently had her own pregnancy scare. Wonder how she would react as a mom in this situation?

Should one of them give in?
