A little rain didn’t stop Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and her family from supporting her Girl Scout troop – and it certainly didn’t stop fans from coming out to meet their favorite reality star!
Seven-year-old Alana just joined the Scouts, and she got right into the spirit of Scouting by holding a cookie sale last Saturday and Sunday in the yard of her house. Her troop set up a castle-shaped kiosk made from cartons of Trefoils, Savannah Smiles and other famous varieties.
The weekend was a family affair; not only was Honey Boo Boo there to sign autographs and pose for pictures, but most of her folks joined in the fun too, including mom “Mama June” Shannon, dad Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson and big sisters Jessica (“Chubbs”) and Lauryn (“Pumpkin”). Despite wet weather on Saturday, the family kept on smiling.
By the time the event ended on Sunday afternoon, the troop had sold a whopping total of 1,366 boxes. They also donated boxes to a local children’s hospital and a Ronald McDonald House, and collected additional funds for a local animal shelter as well. (In case you need a Thin Mints fix, Alana is still collecting orders via email.)
June shared a huge gallery of photos from the event at the official Honey Boo Boo Facebook page. Here’s just a sampling of their busy weekend!
