Hosts of the Academy Awards: One of Them is an Oscar Nominee

Oscar nominees

James Franco: Oscar nominee and host

The Oscar Nominees were announced this morning and one of the nominees is hosting the show this year!

James Franco and Anne Hathaway are the Oscar hosts for the 2011 awards next month. James Franco is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for “127 Hours.”

The last time that an Academy Awards host was also a nominee was back in 1987: Paul Hogan. Though the Academy says they don’t see a problem with a host being an Oscar nominee, you have to wonder if they didn’t realize that James Franco could be up for an Academy Award.

Do you think that it’s okay to have the host of the Oscars be one of the nominees?
