Hot Mamas/Ugly Shoes: 9 Stars Make Questionable Choices

When I think of mom shoes, I think of a sporty pair of Ked’s, maybe a set of stylish ballet flats or even (gulp) Uggs. But just because you have kids, doesn’t mean you have to throw out your stilettos along with those peaceful night’s sleep and romantic vacations.  Many moms continue to sport height defying heels. And when they’re in the entertainment industry, those high heels are just part of the job. But not every mom, no matter how stylish or glamorous she is, makes the right shoe choice. Here are 9 celebrity moms who have been sporting some questionable footwear. A few are edgy, several are bizarre and one pair is just plain tacky. Check them out here!

Salma Hayek (above)
Salma went totally simple in her black ensemble but paired it with her Balenciaga platform open-toe mid calf boots. The boots? They totally stole the show. And not in a good way.

Jennifer Connelly
Another starlet made an off Balenciaga footwear choice. Here Jennifer paired her Balenciaga skirt with a pair of wooden heeled platform heels that look like a marriage between space age and native styles. A marriage, that didn’t work out.

Victoria Beckham
I can appreciate a pair of thigh high boots as much as the next gal, but there is a thing as too high. If your boots run the risk of looking like a pair of tights with heels attached to them, you know something is wrong. Unless you’re Barbarella. Then it’s just fine.

Jessica Alba
The Proenza Schouler dress, I personally like. But the shoes? It’s a bit too matchy matchy with such a statement frock. And there are just too many things going on with these Proenza Schouler shoes. Yes, it’s a statement. But is it the right one?

Gwen Stefani
Now out of context, these L.A.M.B platform ‘Zan’ heels seem fine. But when worn with a silver dress and a pair of white stirrup tights, it just seems a wee bit too thrown together. But I do love how Gwen supports and sports her own brand!

Jenna Jameson
Jenna and Tito Ortiz in happier times. But Jenna, not in happier shoes. Not sure what’s going on with this neon platform number but it ain’t anything good.

Kelis
Wow, someone not only bought a pair of these insane Alexander McQueen Armadillo Boots but someone actually wore them. Out. In public. That someone is Kelis, she who brings her milkshake to the yards.

Angie Harmon

When I think Angie Harmon, I think more that stylish girl next door. Not the kind of gal who would go the gray hued dominatrix route. Her Over the Knee Rodate bondage Boots give her a tough edge that doesn’t seem to exist in Angie’s real persona. But hey, she’s an actress so perhaps she’s just taking some steps in someone else’s shoes.

and last but not least, the one and only ‘Queen of Lucite’

Shauna Sand

Shauna wears her lucite stilettos here, there and everywhere. On the subject of her odd choice of ‘everyday’ shoes she said, “I’ve been walking in them for so long. I was a ballerina, so my balance is amazing and I’m used to being on my toes in point shoes. But I also think my stilettos are quite deceiving because they’re so comfortable. I have three daughters, who are almost nine, 10 and 12 and even when my kids were like, two, they were able to walk in the stilettos. They’re really not that high because they have a platform so once you get used to them, they’re so easy to walk in. [Wearing stilettos] is like exercising without exercising. When you wear them, you’re actually working your legs and your butt and you can get beautiful muscle definition…… I love them. I can’t walk barefoot. I’ll walk barefoot in the sand on the beach, but if the sand is too hot, I’ll have my stilettos on.”

Would you wear any of these shoes?
