CoverGirl has a new spokesperson with an appropriately colorful name!
The cosmetics giant announced today that Pink will be its new spokesperson, joining the ranks of such notable models as Drew Barrymore, Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres.
The singer released a statement saying how proud she was to join this group of women “who have always inspired me.”
“I have a lot to celebrate. I called my new album The Truth About Love, and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”
The individualistic singer may seem like an unusual choice to promote foundation and eyeshadow, but her unique style and outspokenness are precisely what appealed to the company.
CoverGirl VP Esi Eggleston Bracey says, “Pink is a powerful and provocative role model who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are. We love the energy and confidence that she radiates, and the fact that inside and out she’s as cool as she looks. She’s an awesome addition to our CoverGirl family.”
What a great honor for Pink – and an awesome lesson for daughter Willow as well. She’s too young to understand now, but one day she’ll learn that her mom didn’t have to conform to anyone’s ideal of beauty to be considered a role model.
Pink’s ad campaign will begin this fall with the introduction of a “bold new mascara innovation.” Hmmm…do you suppose CG is coming out with a lash-lengthener in a certain color?
