No, she still hasn’t announced it officially-for-sure-and-for-true yet – you know how those media agreements are – but the world knows now that Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer is a married woman again.
As OK! magazine reports in this week’s cover story, Leah and fiance Jeremy Calvert were married on June 11 in a small, touching lakeside ceremony, surrounded by friends and family. Best of all, her twin daughters, Aleeah and Aliannah (“Ali”) were a central part of the festivities – most appropriate for a newly blended family.
The couple, dating only since last August, had a legal ceremony back in April, but this was their formal introduction to married life. Escorted down the aisle by both her stepfather and her once-estranged biological father, Leah wore a beautiful lacy strapless gown, set off by a short veil and pearls, and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers that included yellow lilies.
As flower girls, the twins were first in the procession, carrying little white baskets of petals. Their adorable dresses were sleeveless and white, with a fetching neckline of white flowers. Ali also wore a sweet white floral wreath on her hair. Leah’s mom, Dawn, and Jeremy’s mother helped them down the aisle (Ali, born with developmental delays, isn’t yet walking independently).
Not even the drenching rain that fell during the ceremony could dampen the girls’ spirits. One wedding guest was quoted as saying, “The girls were loving the rain. They were so cute.”After exchanging brief vows (wedding planner Linda Gross doubled as officiant), the couple and the twins gathered together to put sand and seashells into a heart-shaped vase, symbolizing their new family. “The girls had fun picking the pretty seashells,” Linda says. “It’s a nice little keepsake for them to take home with them.”
Then it was back up the aisle and off to the reception, held in Myrtle Beach’s historic Cooper House. Seated at a long table, the couple, daughters and guests enjoyed “down-home cooking” like baked chicken and green beans before kicking off their shoes and hitting the dance floor. Ali and Aleeah were right in the thick of things. “Everyone danced with the children,” says Linda.
Among the 30 guests was another Teen Mom 2 star, Kailyn Lowry, who brought her boyfriend Javi Marroquin. They, too, have become incredibly close in the short time they’ve been dating, so perhaps there’ll be another TM wedding in the not-too-distant future.
Despite the couple’s young ages – Leah is only 20, Jeremy 22 – hopes are high that this one is the real deal. They send loving messages to each other on Twitter, where Jeremy calls his new bride “the love of my life” and “my forever & always” and proclaims his love for his new stepdaughters as well.
As long as those two adorable girls are always surrounded by love, it’ll be a happy ending for all involved.
