Although actor Hugh Jackman makes his living on the big screen, he doesn’t allow his kids to watch the small screen during the week!
The Aussie, 42, says that he decided to follow his friend’s footsteps and ban screen use during the week for his own kids, kids Oscar, 11, and Ava, 6.
“A buddy of mine has a rule that I installed: No screens during the week. No TV, or computer, or anything like that,” Jackman said.
Wow! I commend the Real Steel star for taking such a position.
“Kids nowadays have very little time,” says Jackman.
“They seem to be at school longer than ever. They have all sorts of after school activities. By the time you have eaten and showered and dressed, it is over. So there is not much time for it anyway.”
Fair enough. But a little down time in from of the old telly isn’t the end-all and be-all, is it?
“I love to play Wii Tennis,” says Jackman. “So I’ll say to my son, ‘Hey, lets go play on the Wii.’ And he goes, ‘Dad, it’s a beautiful day! Let’s go outside!’
What do you think about Hugh’s screen rules at home? Good idea or too extreme?
