Inside Job Documentary Wins The Oscar

Inside Job took an Oscar home on Sunday night in the documentary feature category. The movie provides a detailed yet angry examination of the US financial meltdown.

Inside Job beat out other documentaries that included “Restrepo,” about war in Afghanistan, “Gasland,” about pollution, “Exit Through the Gift Shop”, written by an anonymous graffiti artist, and “Waste Land,” about the lives of “pickers” at a Rio de Janeiro landfill.

In accepting the Oscar, Inside Job’s filmmaker Charles H. Ferguson said, “Forgive me, I must start by pointing out that three years after our horrific financial crisis caused by financial fraud, not a single financial executive has gone to jail, and that’s wrong.”
