Will Adele soon have Someone Like Her?
Fans are holding their collective breath for news that the British pop sensation has given birth to her first child.
Unlike celeb moms who happily share their bump pictures, odd food cravings and details of their baby showers, Adele has been keeping the details of her pregnancy private to all but her nearest and dearest. She didn’t even announce that she and fiance Simon Konecki were expecting until June – when she was already fairly far along.
Since then, folks have been wondering exactly how far along she is and when to send the “congratulations” cards.
Well, we have a feeling that the day could come…well, any day now. Here are our top 3 reasons why!
1. Do the math. Adele’s announcement came at the end of June, and reports soon announced that she’d been keeping the secret for several months. In July, reports came that she was due in mid-September. In August, Konecki told a reporter that the baby was coming “so soon!” That same month, a rumor that Adele would sing at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics was quickly proven false, leading to more murmurs that she was too close to labor to risk the stress of performing. So now it’s almost the middle of October. Either everyone was wrong about her already being at the end of her second trimester when she made the announcement – or else she’s packing her hospital bag as we speak.
2. Look at her belly. The singer has been not only closed-mouthed about her pregnancy, but camera-shy as well. However, a photographer did capture the couple stepping out to run errands in London on September 4 (as shown in Us Weekly and other tabs). That was more than a month ago, and her bump clearly had that not-much-longer look about it.
3. Read between the lines. Adele made the cover of People this week with a writearound report on how the “Very Private Superstar” (translation: she won’t give us an interview) is “Getting Ready for Baby” (translation: we know she’s due soon, so we’d better stay on the ball). They quote a source who says the mom-to-be is “just thrilled” but also “laying low and nesting.”
As any mother knows, when you start alternating between reorganizing the house and lying on the sofa watching Anderson, that’s a sure sign that the contractions are about to start.
Taken all together, those clues point to an educated guess that Baby Konecki will arrive just in time to wear his or her first Halloween costume.
What do you think? Any guesses on Adele’s due date?
