There’s a rumor floating around that 38 year-old Cameron Diaz is in final negotiations to star in the Lionsgate and Phoenix Pictures’ adaptation of the non- fiction pregnancy guidebook, What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
If you’ve ever been pregnant, chances are you’ve at least heard of the book, and you might have even read it. I know for both of my pregnancies it was like my ‘pregnancy bible’!
The movie, which Deadline reported is going for a ‘Love Actually’ feel, takes on a journey with five couples expecting a child, and the many joys of the childbirth process.
Diaz’s character will be a Jillian Michaels-type who hosts a weight-loss fitness show.
Shooting on What To Expect When You’re Expecting will begin in July.
I don’t know about you, but I guess I really don’t see how they can make a film out of a book that literally tells you month-by-month what to expect while you’re pregnant. Where’s the connection? Is the movie based on the stories of actual couples featured in the book? What are your thoughts?
