Is China Using Top Gun in Their News Report Footage?

Every editor wants that ‘perfect’ shot, but there should be a line that isn’t crossed. Like using footage from a Hollywood movie in your military news reports. But that’s just what – apparently – one news show did in China last week.

China’s state broadcaster, the station CCTV, did a story on an air force training exercise that apparently went wrong. And what did they throw into the sequence of shoots? A scene from Top Gun! Check out this side by side comparison that the Wall Street Journal put together…
