Is Victoria Beckham Going All Gwyneth Paltrow On Us?

Victoria Beckham poses for photographers at the launch of new fashion line 'Victoria' at Harvey Nichols in London over the weekend.

Victoria Beckham is tired, y’all. And well she should be.  She’s mom to 4 children, the last, Harper, who she seemingly birthed, dropped the four pounds she gained and then hit the red carpet in stilettos and Versace the next day.

I’d be tired too, girlfriend.

But it was what Beckham said to The Mirror that had the Gwyneth Paltrow alarm bells going off in my head.

While discussing how tired she is from being a “working mom” Beckham said “I’m spending ludicrous amounts of time in my dressing gown on Skype talking to my team about the clothes.”

Poor thing!  How awful that must be!

It reminded me of the infamous newsletter Gwyneth Paltrow wrote for her website, GOOP, where she detailed a day in her life difficult live as a working mom, including trying on dresses for the Country Music Awards, returning phone calls while she’s chauffeured home from the gym and baking gourmet cupcakes for a charity fundraiser with her kids. Oh yeah, Paltrow also urged working moms to get their fish delivered from a fishmonger to save time.

In the interview with The Mirror magazine, Beckham brushes off talk that she looks skinny and miserable by explaining that she’s a working mom.

“Harper’s not sleeping that great, and I’ve been taking Skype business calls throughout the night too because of the collections,” Posh says. “I’m up with the baby as all mums are and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s not a team of people doing it for me. And then people want to say I look crap. Well, I’m a working mum, so give me a break…I have a lot on my plate. I’m not going to lie about it, I’m tired. I’m really tired but I’m also very happy with my life. I’m basically just like any woman who’s working and has lots of children it’s tough.”

What do you think?  Is Posh like any other working mom?  Do you feel badly for her? Do you admire her for working when she obviously doesn’t need to or is she treading dangerously close to Gwyneth Paltrow territory?
