You know what would be horrible? To be Jared Lee Loughner’s parents. Jared Lee Loughner is the year old lone gunman who was responsible for the Tuscon shooting spree over the weekend. A national tragedy that could have easily been avoided with either some intervention, attention or maybe just a bit more sanity on the part of Jared Lee Loughner.
And to be a parent of someone who performs a horrible and horrendous crime, well it would be hard not to feel somewhat responsible for your offsprings’ actions.
On Tuesday, the parents of Jared Lee Loughner spoke out about their sons actions saying:
“There are no words that can possibly express how we feel,” they said in a statement that was given to reporters waiting outside their house. “We wish that there were, so we could make you feel better. We don’t understand why this happened. It may not make any difference, but we wish that we could change the heinous events of Saturday,” it said. “We care very deeply about the victims and their families. We are so very sorry for their loss.”
Do you parents in this situation feel immense states of guilt or is do they see if just as actions of an individual?
