SNL Jeff Bridges highlights with Cookie Monster, The Lonely Island

Check out Jeff Bridges as SNL host, including highlights and videos of The Lonely Islands’ SNL Digital Short, Eminem and Lil Wayne on the December 18 Saturday Night Live.

Jeff Bridges was solid, as you would expect The Dude to be, although it didn’t seem like the writers gave Bridges a whole lot to do.

After a cold open featuring Kenan Thompson as Frosty the Snowman and a lineup of Obama, Hilary Clinton, Rahm Emanuel, Nancy Pelosi, and Joe Biden daydreaming about their favorite headlines, Jeff Bridges’ monologue rocked with the help of Cookie Monster.

Watch Cookie Monster and Jeff Bridges sing “Silver Bells” during the SNL monologue no doubt one of Cookie Monster’s career highlights.

Other highlights included the SNL Digital Short featuring The Lonely Island and Akon a new song calkled “I Just Had Sex,” which included Blake Lively and Jessica Alba.

The Miley Cyrus Show returned with the opportunity to talk about Miley’s most recent video, which led Cyrus to star in an after school special with her over-the-top bad acting.

There was a Larry King sketch with Jeff Bridges as Dog the Bounty Hunter, as well as the return of another Under Underground Records celebration Crunkmas Karnival!

Eminem and Lil Wayne had, of course, great performances during the show. It’s always cool to see someone with talent performing on SNL (don’t get me started on Ke$ha).

Weekend Update was a little lackluster, but the combo of Snookie, Stefon and David Paterson singing O Christmas Tree was a fun bit.

Turner Classic Movies brought us It’s a Wonderful Life as an unseen Hanukkah movie called, “This You Call a Wonderful Life?”

There was also a Sundance “Jeff’d” Jeff Bridges prank show that was kind of cute, an old timey general store offering gift wrap (loved Jeff Bridges’ hair!) and a holiday message from the Kardashians.
