Jennifer Hudson Weight Loss: On Oprah She Reveals How Much Weight She's Lost (Video)

This afternoon on The Oprah Winfrey Show, singer Jennifer Hudson was so excited to tell Oprah just how much weight she has lost so far on Weight Watchers.

Although her Weight Watchers coach Liz, didn’t want Jennifer to tell because people get caught up on the number of pounds instead of understanding the need to change bad habits. But Hudson was bouncing in her seat and saying “I want to tell it!”, and she did reveal the magic number.

“I’ve lost 80 pounds!,” she said, and Oprah and several members of the audience gave her a standing ovation. “It’s like a brand new me,” she said. “Sometimes I don’t even recognize myself.”

Hudson said she made the decision to lose the weight while she was pregnant with her now 2-year-old son, and she eventually went from a size 16 to a size 6. Hudson says that she prepares all of her own food and exercises regularly to keep the weight off.

75 members of Hudson’s family and friends in Chicago, Indiana and Mississippi joined her on her weight loss journey, and Winfrey revealed that collectively the group had lost 1,935 pounds….almost a ton!

Tears flowed when Winfrey brought out fashion guru Tim Gunn (of the Project Runway fame) to give three of Hudson’s cousins who have also lost weight on Weight Watchers a makeover. Believe it or not, Gunn is a fashion consultant for the weight loss organization.

Hudson also performed her new single, “Where You At,” from her forthcoming album.
