Jennifer Hudson's Son: Is He Going To Be An Entertainer, Too?

Jennifer Hudson

Like mother, like son?

Celebrity mom Jennifer Hudson reveals to Parade Magazine that her almost 3-year-old son is already showing some potential in the singing department and even says that the little tot might sing at her wedding! Here are some highlights from her interview:

On whether her son is a budding entertainer.
“He’s growing up with a musical background and music is a huge part of our household. It’s a huge way I communicate with him. He didn’t want to go to bed the other day and wanted to sing for me. He tried to grab the mic stand and perform ‘Proud Mary’— not that knew all the words! But he got enough of it and did a good job. He really responds. When I perform, he’ll tell me if he thinks I did good.”

On the surprises of motherhood.
“It made me realize how much my mom loved me and how much patience it takes. I think of the things my mom did for me and so I have to do it for my son. Now that I have a child, I get it. I get the example she set. It’s not always easy but it’s for love. You realize how much you can love and how much you give up for your child as a parent. I’m learning that through him.”

Her wedding plans.
“My son won’t have it any other way: he’ll definitely be a part of it. Maybe he’ll even sing!”
