Jennifer Lopez is making the rounds promoting her first movie (The Back-up Plan) since giving birth to twins Emme and Max in 2008, and graces the recent issue of US Weekly with an interview that includes getting her body back post babies. Apparently she wasn’t freaked out by the weight gain or its toll on her tummy. “I remember my flabby belly hanging out right after I gave birth. I kind of laughed and said to Marc, ‘Look, baby! Isn’t this crazy?’ I just didn’t care.” Unsurprisingly, she did start to care at some point.
“I look back at pictures from that time, and I’m like ‘Oh, god, I was fat. I was still heavy eight months out!'”
She says the twins themselves motivated her to lose 50 pounds. “You get to the point where you’re like, Where am I? What happened to me? I got to get myself together for my kids, you know? They need to know what I really look like.”
You know how judgmental infants can be…
Check out The Back-up Plan, in theaters Friday, and let us know what you think. While he wasn’t a big fan of the film, Chicago Sun Times critic Robert Ebert says Jenny from the Block (does she still like to be called that?) looks better than she ever has at 40.
