Jesse Jackson Jr has all the makings of a longterm political career – influential father, beautiful family, a seat in the House of Representatives, and now he has a political scandal to add to his resume.
According to new reports by the Chicago Sun Times, Jackson was allegedly a key play in the Rod Blagojevich having offered as much as $6 million as a payoff to receive the former governor’s appointment to President Obama’s Senate seat in 2008. The same report accuses Jackson of carrying on a relationship with a hostess, Giovanna Huidobro, who works at a Washington D.C. restaurant.
For his part Jackson is vigorously denying any part of the Blago affair but owns up to the infidelity allegations.
“The reference to a social acquaintance is a private and personal matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago. I ask that you respect our privacy,” he says in a statement. His wife Sandi released a separate statement which also verifies that there was some sort of indiscretion on her husband’s part.
Jackson and his wife Sandi have two children – Jesse III (Tre) and Jessica. The family split their time between homes in Chicago and Washington D.C.
The second generation politician is reportedly considering a run for Chicago Mayor.
