Jessica Simpson Pregnant: How Will This Affect Her Weight Watchers Deal?

Jessica Simpson’s Baby Announcement

When a regular lady in America gets knocked up, they may lose some meals due to morning sickness,  they may lose some sleep, but generally a risk of losing millions of dollars is not the cards; unless you are Jessica Simpson.

On Christmas Day, Jessica Simspon sent out a tweet confirming that yes, she is expecting her second child. This comes on the heals of weeks of rumors and speculation. And while I’m sure she and and husband Eric Johnson are thrilled, one has to wonder how this will affect her multi-million dollar deal with Weight Watchers.

In a case of bad coincidence, the same week she revealed her new pregnancy is the same week she unveiled her new ad (which you can watch below).  “I didn’t need to be perfect to get here, to lose over 50 pounds on Weight Watchers,” Simpson says in an ad. “I love food, I love life, and I had no idea I could be so in control and so free at the same time.”

Jessica was hired on to loss all that baby weight (and probably more) after her pregnancy with baby Maxwell. But now that deal won’t come to a “big reveal” and new bod ala Jennifer Hudson, or perhaps there will just be a nine month wait for the results. Four million dollars is a whole lot, and Jessica Simpson reportedly had a hard time losing the weight she had lost. One could play the devil’s advocate and conclude that Jessica couldn’t take it off so thought this would be a great way slyly get out of deal and get a brand new baby out of it too! But odds are, it was just a “oops, how did that happen!?!” scenario. This is a situation where Weight Watchers couldn’t just fire her for getting pregnant either, odds are there will just be a delay in the Jessica Simpson’s Weight Watchers sponsorship, with a big “look how I’ve lost the weight after TWO kids,” message.
