On Saturday, as Bethenny Frankel lay in the hospital bed tweeting away during labor, her costar and frenemy Jill Zarin took to Twitter herself to incorrectly announce the birth and gender of the baby to the world…before Bethenny could officially do it.
This is truly what it looks like when people stop being polite and start getting real.
“Heard Bethenny had a baby boy,” Jill wrote on Facebook. “So happy for her and Jason. So happy for them.”
Bethenny, her birthing thunder stolen, was obviously upset.
Her fans were also upset and hundreds began attacking Jill on Facebook, Twitter, and even her own fan page. “You’re a loudmouth,” “You need to get a hobby,” and plenty of other more unmentionable things (that have now been removed) were flung at her.
Jill, out of authentic guilt or perhaps a chance to get more press out of the situation, has come forward with an apology.
“Yesterday [my daughter] read a tweet and blog that Bethenny gave birth,” Jill posted on her Facebook. “We were excited and congratulated her obviously prematurely. I should have waited until B announced it herself. Sorry.”
Jill wasn’t the only one to leak the news. Hours before Jill ever logged on, Ramona Singer tweeted, “OMG at the airport. & just spoke to @bethenny…she’s in the hospital having the baby!!!!!!!”
But because there has already been trouble brewing between the two Manhattanites, all the negative energy has been focused on Jill. Do you think Bethenny should forgive her?
