Former Bachelorette Jillian Harris learned the hard way what the rest of the world already suspected: Ed Swiderski wasn’t ready to settle down, get married and have a family. “It was the last thing I wanted to do,” the reality star, 29, who is living back in her native Vancouver claims. “It’s terrible to leave because the other person doesn’t know what they want,” says Harris, adding she “fought very hard” to stay together.
Harris, who is dating again, reports she endured a “very sad summer” and says of her former fiance: “He’s not a bad guy. He’s just not quite ready to grow up.” That was kind of obvious when he left the show under the guise of his career, hooked back up with his old girlfriend, cheated on Jillian after he proposed and has been spotted ever since out on the town in Chicago flirting with anybody who has a pulse.
Here’s my one plea to ABC: don’t make this “recycling” of Bachelor and Bachelorette stars a habit now that Brad Womack is getting a second chance. One sloshy round of Jillian was enough.
