Even though she’s a mother now to two children, Lukensia and Phoenix, the celebrity fitness trainer says that it’s not going to stop her from being the bad-ass motivator that she is. In fact, she says that it’s only made her even tougher.
“Everybody was like, ‘You’re going to be so much softer.’ And I really wanted to be, but it’s not the case,” she tells PEOPLE. “I feel like aspects of my business and home life are being sacrificed for me to be here, and I need that sacrifice to be worth it. Jillian also adds that when she first planned on announcing the news that she was adopting, she was planning on hearing the worst response from the public, but was pleasantly surprised with the warm reception she received instead. She says:
“I was surprised. People were pretty supportive. We’ve got it all going on in our household — two moms and a black daughter — so I thought we were going to get it from every angle. But for the most part, people basically said, ‘God bless. Congratulations!’”
