Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy Break Up!

Oh no! Say it isn’t so! Jim Carrey just spilled on his Twitter account that him and Jenny McCarthy have split up. He wrote:

“Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay! ?;^>”

About ten minutes after Jim’s post, Jenny wrote on her website: “”I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane [Jim’s daughter] and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.”

The two have always been extremely supportive of each others careers and passions. And Jim was a strong father figure to Jenny’s son Evan. Jim was often seen along side Jenny in support of her work for autism awareness. They seemed to be battling for the cause hand in hand and you could only assume that they were always a united front. But apparently their relationship couldn’t rise above whatever issues they may have had.

The two never got married. Jim Carrey once told Hollyscoop.com “We love each other and we are married whether somebody said it or not. Whether we had some kind of ceremony or not, we believe that nothing outside of yourself can make your union sacred except you.”  He added, “So that’s where we are, we love it and everybody keeps saying ‘why not put the finishing touches on it’ and my attitude is why ever put the finishing touches on it? Just keep it open, keep it going, court forever, that’s what were into.”

Jim has always treated Evan as if he were his own son, so hopefully Jim will continue to be a presence in the young boy’s life. And Jenny McCarthy has always been close to Jim’s daughter Jane and considers herself a grandma to Jane’s daughter.

Hopefully they will all get through this breakup. Sad.
