Jon Bon Jovi may have cultivated a bad-boy rocker image for himself back in the 80s, when his band Bon Jovi really took off. But more than twenty years later, he’s calmed down significantly, and is proud to call himself a family man–even in light of the recent tell-all book released by Bon Jovi’s former manager, Rich Bozzett, that paints the singer in some, well, scandalous lights.
Bon Jovi married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, 21 years ago, and though they split briefly, their family–which also includes children, Stephanie Rose, Jesse James Louis, Jacob Hurley, and Romeon Jon–is totally together now. And unlike many Hollywood-influenced couples and families, this one doesn’t seem to be breaking up anytime soon.
“I’ve not been a saint. I’ve had my lapses,” Bon Jovi said of the rough patch he and Hurley went through. But now, he is adamant that his home life couldn’t be better.
“I think people see the cliche of the rock star,” the 48-year-old singer once told Parade magazine. “We’re supposed to get married every three years, trade in, trade out–I don’t even want to dare say trade up!”
He doesn’t have any plans of doing that, not for anything–or anyone. “If Angelina Jolie came in today, I wouldn’t trade,” Bon Jovi said.
