Joran Van Der Sloot Admits Extortion Scheme, Did It For Revenge

Joran Van Der Sloot, currently imprisoned in Peru for the death of Stephanie Flores, has fessed up to trying to extort money from Natalee Holloway’s parents. His reason? Revenge.

“I wanted to get back at Natalee’s family,” he said in an interview published Monday in a Dutch newspaper. “Her parents have been making my life tough for five years.”

Joran will face one count of wire fraud and one count of extortion for trying to squeeze more than $250,000 from the Holloways.

“When they offered to pay for the girl’s location, I thought: ‘Why not?'” he added.
