Joran Van Der Sloot, 22, the Dutch man long suspected in connection with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba just over five years ago, is again wanted by the law. This time, there is a body and a bloody murder scene — and Van Der Sloot has fled Lima, Peru where the alleged crime was committed. And the evidence surfacing seems pretty damning.
A young woman, 21-year-old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, was spotted leaving a casino with Van Der Sloot and her body, inflicted with stab wounds, was found in his hotel room early this morning. Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant in connection with the Peruvian murder.
Which makes me think of Beth Holloway Twitty, Natalee’s mother, and all she’s been through. The disappearance of her daughter, the release of Van Der Sloot in that case, his alleged confession caught on tape with still no resolution, the five-year anniversary of Natalee’s vanishing on May 30 — and now this. Hopefully, this will be the closure the family finally needs, not another series of disappointments and unanswered questions. Let’s hope for justice — and eventually peace if that’s possible — for all the families involved.
