Black belt, here he comes!

One of the best parts of being a parent is watching your children discover their own talents and celebrating their achievements. Not only are you delighted for them, but there’s a little part of you that goes, Wow – I didn’t know I could create a science-fair winner!

And that pride is no less great when you’re a mom who happens to have a lot of accomplishments under her belt yourself. So it’s no wonder Tori Spelling tweets pictures of her children celebrating milestones and special days.

Take yesterday, for instance. Fans were treated to this tweeted picture of son Liam moving up a level in his karate class!

@liamsworld got his yellow belt,” she announced. “We are so proud of our Monkey!”

For those of you not in the martial-arts loop, yellow is the second level on the way up to the coveted black belt. And considering that Liam is just 5 years old, that’s pretty darn good.

In fact, Liam just had his birthday on March 15. On her website, Tori noted the occasion with a special message: “I can’t believe it’s been five years since I welcomed my first baby, Liam Aaron McDermott, into this world. It was one of the most amazing days of my life and not a day has gone by that I’m not more amazed by and more in love with Liam.”

How lovely. Wonder what words of love Tori will share when Baby #4 joins the family?

Congratulations and happy belated birthday, Liam!
