Kate Gosselin: A New Project and a "Fun, Bright Future"Shana Aborn
It’s hard to stay positive in the midst of tough times, but Kate Gosselin is determined to do just that.
The past few weeks have seen the reality-star mom back in the headlines – and not in a good way. A biographer friend of her ex, Jon, self-published a dirt-dishing unauthorized book that made serious allegations about Kate’s parenting. (The book has since been pulled because the author allegedly got his information through illegal means.)
Then she lost her gig as a blogger for CouponCabin for not being a “good fit” with the site, which was likely a kind way of saying that the company wanted to distance itself from the bad press and the negative comments posted on the blog by her many critics. (The Daily News also suggests that her ouster may have been prompted by an inaccurate statement in her final post.)
But nothing keeps Kate down for long – and she assures her Twitter followers that she’s already busy with a new venture!
On the day she was let go, Kate tweeted, “Good afternoon! I’m alive!! I’ve been super busy working away! I’m having lots of fun and can’t wait to share! No worries…we will chat soon! XO”
Then yesterday, after several days of Twitter silence (tweeping?), the reality-star mom came back with this intriguing message:
“Just finished a long SUPER fun project…so good to be home but what a great time had by all involved!…A fun bright future lies ahead!”
So what kind of project would take her away from home for so long? Does “all involved” include her eight children? And is it not only fun and bright, but also lucrative enough to help support her growing family?
I’m guessing that perhaps Kate may have a new reality show in the works – perhaps the dating show she’s hinted she might want to do.
Or could she be working on a program with a home-improvement channel like HGTV or DIY? After all, her final post for CouponCabin was about saving money by doing simple home repairs herself. “I feel that it’s important that my kids see me addressing household problems and attempting to fix them on my own.” Her haters scoffed at the idea of a TV personality fixing her own toilet handle – and at her confession that she once didn’t know how to hang a picture – but a show about helping women become handier could actually be fun for both Kate and her fans!
At any rate, you have to give her credit for doing her best to move on and keep a positive attitude. Some people might crumble under the pressure and negativity. But as a mom, she has a responsibility to her kids not only to support them, but also to set an example of grace under fire.
What do you think Kate’s next project will be?
