Kate Gosselin Doesn't Want Her Children Near Pit Bulls

Maddy Gosselin and a Pit Bull

Apparently celebrity mom Kate Gosselin is no fan of pitbulls. Well, at least her ex-husband’s current girlfriend’s pitbulls, that is.

So here’s the backstory: Jon Gosselin has a new girlfriend, Liz Jannetta, who has recently been tweeting photos of Jon and Kate’s kids cuddling with her pit bulls. She is obviously an animal lover and has tweeted such things as the “genuine love and affection” between her dogs and the kids and how she’s trying to raise awareness of Pit bull safety and ownership through National Pit bull Day,  and etc. And of course in retaliation Kate herself has been retweeting some of her followers’ messages of how pit bulls can be dangerous, in the most passive aggressive way she knows. But then again Kate doesn’t have the best track records when it comes to dogs, now does she? Here’s a little of what we’re reading from Radar Online:

One follower shot back at Liz implying that Kate would be upset if she saw the photos.

“Sure u want 2 be stiring things up Liz..or u wouldn’t be tweeting another woman’skids with pit bulls..Yes did U have permission?” they wrote.

“permission from…. Twitter?? Yes, “another woman’s kids” also the children of my boyfriend. Kindly… Keep comments to urself plz,” Liz shot back…

“Children who were victims of pit bulls Take a look & see why people care,” Kate retweeted from one of her followers on Saturday.

Now, I don’t love or hate Pitt bulls and a matter of fact, feel pretty impartial to them. My sister has one that is about 80 pounds and is what she calls a “big baby,” but she’s big enough for me to feel intimidated by her. Yet still, I allow my children to be near the dog as she’s with babies and toddlers all day and has never presented a problem or caused anyone any hurt. I grew up with a 10-pound Dauschund who would bite anyone he simply didn’t like (and that was just anyone), so of course you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, and that applies to dogs, too. It’s all about animal safety and prevention education, right?

Tell us Babble readers, how do you feel about Pitt Bulls and your children being around them? Does Kate have a reason to be worried?
